Description:
The training workshop of the Algal Photo-Biological Process Plants Designs imparts an approach to designing Biological Process Plants that is based on any engineering science based photobioreactors, ES-PBRs, of designs that are consistent with the operational characteristics of Photobioreactor design standards. The choice of the ES-PBR limits the pumping cost by limiting the circulation volume of water in a labrynthine horizontal tubular photobioreactors in transforming the circulation time bases reaction process into a residence time based reaction process; and as a consequence the volume of circulation for an ES-PBR is smaller and the pumping demand also gets reduced.

In addition although the retrofit-pond technology Biological Process Plants Design alleviates virtually all inefficiencies of the common pond designs, the concerns of the inefficiencies attendant to pond-technologies could be completely eliminated by simply adopting an ES-Photoboreactor in Biological Process Plant Technologies.

Accordingly, the training design approach begins with the presumption of the use of an ES-Photobioreactor with the external configuration consistent with the Photobioreactor design standards. Subsequently, the configuration is then further augmented with a complete sub-process which is developed in compliance with the principles of chemical process engineering, effectively resulting in engineering science based Photo-Biological Process Plant Design.

Workshop Package:
Algal Photo-Biological Process Plants Designs Training Manual (free Training Aid)
Plant Design and Economics for Chemical Engineers, by Peter and Timmerhaus, etal. (included)
